How it works

1. Warm up the water
Turn the shower on first and let it run warm, with the CozySoak connected to your shower.

Drape it over their shoulders. Warm water continues flowing through the cape and down their body — they're warm before they're even under the spray.

Questions families ask
How does a wet cape keep them warm?
Warm water runs through the cape and over their body the whole shower, and the fleece holds that warm water against their skin instead of letting it drain away. It's the constant warm water that keeps them warm; the cape is what keeps it on them.
Does it replace my showerhead?
Maybe. CozySoak attaches to the hose of the handheld wand in your shower. If you have a separate shower wand, just remove the wand at the end of the hose and connect CozySoak.
If you only have a wand that's held up in a bracket you can take down, you'll connect to that hose, so CozySoak does replace your “shower head.” With that setup you can still leave it connected. If someone else wants to use the shower, just unscrew CozySoak and screw the shower wand back on.
If you're getting a handheld wand put in anyway, look for a combination showerhead and wand. There are many on the market, and it makes things easier if the shower is shared.
Can I leave it installed?
Yes, and that's the easiest way to use it. The hose and Y-connector stay on the shower; you just hang the cape up to dry between bath days.
Does it work in a tub-shower?
Yes. Tub-showers and walk-in showers both work. CozySoak is for seated showering, on a shower chair or bench.
How heavy is it?
Wet, the fleece holds water and is about 2 pounds.
Does it use more hot water?
No. It uses the same water a normal shower does — it just keeps it on them instead of on the floor.
How warm should the water be?
CozySoak delivers your shower's own water, so it is only ever as warm as your shower. Set it before it goes on: run the water, check it at the wand and cloth with the inside of your wrist, and aim for comfortably warm, not hot (around 100–105°F). Often the cloth feels quite warm when it first goes on. Start just a bit cooler, and just like a regular shower, you can increase the temperature as desired. Many people who need help showering can't feel or tell you when water is too hot, so check again if anyone else in the house runs water mid-shower. If your water heater runs hot, setting it to 120°F or below is a good safeguard.
What comes in the box?
The fleece cape, the Y-connector with tubing that feeds warm water into the cape, a stainless shower hose, and a high-pressure on/off shower wand. Everything connects to your existing shower without tools.
Why do I need a “high-pressure” shower wand?
Because once the Y-connector is feeding the cape, the wand is only getting part of your shower's water. An ordinary handheld drops to a trickle. The wand we include is built for that split — it keeps a strong stream at the wand so you can actually wash with it, while the cape still gets its warm flow. That's why one comes in every box instead of us asking you to use your own.
What if my water pressure is low?
CozySoak works on normal household pressure. If yours is low, the wand stream will be softer while the cape is running. Use the wand's on/off switch: with the wand off, all the water goes to the cape; switch it on when you need to rinse. A gentler stream is often easier on the person you're bathing anyway. If it still doesn't work in your bathroom, the setup call is the place to troubleshoot it, and the 30-day refund still applies.
Will it fit?
One size drapes over the shoulders of most adults. If it doesn't work for your person, send it back within 30 days.
How do I wash it?
Machine wash, tumble dry. You can use bleach or a sanitizer if you want. The fleece is tough.
How do I keep it from getting musty?
After each shower, slip the cape off the Y-connector and hang it spread open, over the shower rod or a door, so air reaches both sides. Don't leave it bunched up or in a pile. The fleece is synthetic and dries quickly when it's hung open. Machine wash and tumble dry it every few uses. If it ever smells musty, wash it with a cup of white vinegar and make sure it dries fully before it goes back up. Washing with Clorox can help too. Remember: never mix vinegar and Clorox. Use one or the other.
